Dining At Gazebo At Smugglers Point 10 Feb 2014
A Moveable Feast - Unique Dine-Around Programme Launches At Cap Maison, Saint Lucia

Cap Maison

At Cap Maison in Saint Lucia, guests can now choose to dine almost anywhere across the resort with the newly introduced dine-around programme. Set atop a private ocean-front bluff, this boutique villa resort offers dramatic views across the Caribbean Sea from each of the intimate settings, from a rock pool to a private chartered yacht to a cliff top gazebo.

The dine-around programme allows guests to experience a variety of dining options, rarely seen in smaller boutique properties. Perfect for couples and honeymooners seeking a romantic setting and for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings and anniversaries, the dine-around programme promises a memorable dining experience with French-Caribbean inspired menus, award-winning wines and personalised service that Cap Maison is renowned for.

Cap Maison's restaurant The Cliff at Cap (www.thecliffatcap.com) is one of Saint Lucia's finest dining experiences, offering panoramic sea views from every table and al fresco dining enhanced by lingering sunsets. The kitchen is under the direction of Executive Chef Craig Jones, who has created a nouveau French West Indian menu, based on the rich range of local spices, organic produce and fresh seafood.

Lying beneath the Cliff at Cap is Rock Maison - a secluded wooden deck built on a rocky outcropping, which is surrounded on three sides by the sea surging over the reefs, and accessed by a wooden staircase. Cap Maison is the only hotel in the world to offer a champagne zip-line, where drinks from the bar above glide down to the deck below.

The recently-opened Naked Fisherman Beach Bar & Grill (www.nakedfishermanstlucia.com) is nestled on a natural cove just below Cap Maison, offering a relaxed dining option but with an emphasis on detail and quality. Guests can sit beneath Caribbean thatch and sample grilled dishes, such as spiny lobster tail, wagyu burger in a brioche bun, island catch and shoestring fries, or take their rum cocktails down to the secluded beach just below.

The new Rock Pool, a natural rock pool that fills with sea water as the waves flow to the base of the cliff, is tucked away next to Rock Maison. Romantics can immerse themselves in the warm waters while drinking champagne, cooled in an ice pool carved from the rocks.

A number of ocean-view and garden-view villa suites come with their own riad-style roof verandas so guests can dine under the stars on their very own Private Rooftop Terrace, with a personal in-villa chef.

Stood on an elevated point, overlooking the clear-blue ocean, is Smugglers Point Gazebo. Couples can sit beneath the gazebo, decorated with blossoms and surrounded by lush tropical gardens, taking in the magnificent views towards Martinique.

Other dine-around locations include Saman House, the resort owner's beautiful waterfront home, the handsome 46' Cap Maison 1 Yacht where guests can cruise towards Pigeon Island and picnic on board, and the resort's very own Wine Cellar, a brick-lined and vaulted cave with an elegant dining table surrounded by 1,500 bottles.

Not only can guests dine around the estate, but Cap Maison has pioneered pop-up restaurants in Saint Lucia, with events taking place across the island in exciting places such as historically significant Pigeon Island, the Rodney Bay Mega Marina Yacht Dock and even on The Brig Unicorn, the ship used for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. These pop-up events have extended to New York and will be brought to London this year.

There is an additional service charge for dining in private locations of £45, which is added to the cost of the meal.

Cox & Kings (www.coxandkings.co.uk; 020 7873 5000) offers seven nights' B&B from £1,645 pp (two sharing) which includes flights with Virgin (London Gatwick) and private transfers.
