This quirky pub in the heart of East Sussex has just got a little more curious.
Four new hobbit-like buildings have emerged in the garden, dotted around a central fire pit.
The Love Nest – enter cloud cuckoo land in this semi-subterranean nest made for love. There is plenty of curve appeal with a round roof terrace overlooking a round fire pit to the countryside beyond; a round sofa, a round bed – goodness even the television is curved! It all adds up to romance with a wood burner, deep copper bath in the bedroom and a double shower in a generous wet room - what's not to love!
Between the Lines – the lodge with a mezzanine floor for chilling out listening to classic LPs on the turntable or perusing vintage comics and books. Downstairs the bedhead is an art installation of timeless books, all with their own messages of love and the bold declaration of I THINK I AM FALLING INTO BED WITH YOU.
Pretty Vacant – are you in or out? Let there be no doubt! The bedhead features an oversized traditional lavatory lock to establish whether the bed is 'occupied' or 'vacant'. The 'pretty' of the Sex Pistols song is emblazoned by hand all over the steep ceilings, painstakingly painted by a local artist.
Pour L'Amour – this one's for lovers of all ages. The masculine black ceiling set in sharp relief by an art installation of over 1000 flowers to ensure sweet dreams.
The smart monochrome bathrooms in the lodges have baths that can be opened to the elements for those so inclined, looking out on to a private patio area with their own outdoor fires.

Notes to Editors:
The lodges of The Bell in Ticehurst are the vision of two Richards, entrepreneur owner, Richard Upton and his friend, designer Richard Brett.
The task of making this vision a reality fell to Stephen Evans, a local structural engineer and project manager. Building services were managed and provided by local company Noah, a true labour of love to build these challenging lodges.
Our friend and artist, Bill Talbot, spent less time at the end of the bar this summer as he was fully employed creating major artwork and installations for all the lodges and the Love Nest. A man of many talents from stone masonry to fine art he has touched every room with his soul.
Artist and willow sculptor, Maia Eden, helped create the nest when we weren't quite sure how it was going to come together.
Chelsea medal-winning garden designer, Jo Thomson had only been living in the village for a month before we swept her up to design the lodge garden. They will now be cherished and nurtured by Damian and the team from City Escapes.
