December 1, 2017 – EDMONTON, AB.  Cultural travel outfitter, Cobblestone Freeway Tours recently announced their 2018 holiday themed offerings. The first journey under this selection of tours takes travelers around Western Ukraine to discover firsthand how the most important holiday in Ukrainian culture is celebrated. 

Easter in Ukraine, one of Cobblestone Freeway's most popular tours, will go between some of Ukraine's big cities to the country's quaint mountain villages for the group to participate in traditional activities. Travelers will also visit Ukraine's World Heritage sites throughout Lviv, Kyiv and Chernivtsi. 

The main holiday festivities will take place in the serene Carpathian Mountains. To kick off what is traditionally a weeklong affair, participants will:   

• Make Easter baskets and have them blessed at church mass in the village of Bukovets.
• Partake in ancient Ukrainian dances and rituals.
• Sample delicacies prepared specifically for the Easter festivities.
• Visit the worlds only Pysanka (Easter Egg Museum).

Itinerary also includes trips to see the beautiful Chernivtsi University and one of the country's important architectural landmarks, the fortress of Khotyn along the Dniester River in the beautiful resort town of Kamianets- Podilskyi. 

The tour will wrap up with three days in Kyiv with stops at:

• Andriyivsky Uzviv where Ukraine's artists live and work.
• The world-famous Kyiv Lavra Cave Monastery.
• The Golden Gate of Kyiv.
• Khreshchatyk, the street shopping district.
• Maidan Nezalezhnosti which is Kyiv's Independence Square.
