[Hong Kong] It was a night of glamorous celebration as the 10th annual AsiaSpa Awards turned the sleek Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Causeway Bay into an elegant space of shimmering blue and sakura petals on November 12. Themed 'Sakura Dreams', this year's event saw nominees, industry players and honoured guests alike decked out in fine kimonos and yukatas coming together to celebrate the much-anticipated evening.
In recognition of the industry's finest in 22 categories, awards voted on by a panel of 22 expert judges were presented to spas, hotels and resorts, retreats, academies and products that have exhibited outstanding achievements in not only luxury standards, but also innovation and ecological awareness in the wellness fields.
The splendid evening saw over 400 leading professionals gathering to pay tribute to the winners who have advanced the quality for spa and wellness in the region. The big winners of the night included Maia Spa, Fusion Maia Da Nang in Vietnam, which took home 'Spa of the Year (Southeast Asia & the Pacific)', while 'Spa of the Year (North & West Asia)' went to Aman Spa at Amanfayun in Hangzhou, China. ESPA was awarded 'Spa Product Line of the Year', and Subtle Energies was recognised as 'Natural Product Line of the Year'. Velaa Private Island, Maldives, received the award for 'Destination Hotel/Resort of the Year', while Capella Singapore is the 'Urban Hotel of the Year'.
“The 10th AsiaSpa Awards were an absolute success,” says Vivienne Tang, Editor-in-Chief of AsiaSpa magazine. “It was an extremely rewarding experience to celebrate this milestone with all the people and brands who have been supporting us over all these years.”
