Wear your red, white, and blue this Sunday, July 4th for a spectacular display of fun and patriotism for the entire family at the ninth annual A Gables Fourth, scheduled at the grounds of the majestic Biltmore Hotel located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue.
The festivities kick off at 9 a.m. with the Firecracker Open Golf Tournament at the Biltmore Golf Course and the
Sparkler Golf Tournament at the Granada Golf Course. Entry fees for the two events are $125 and $20 respectively.
Firecracker Open Golf Tournament $125 entry fee includes green fees and cart, goodie bag and barbecue/awards luncheon.
Please note that the $20 tournament fee for the Sparkler Tournament does not include the green fees or the cart fees. The tournament fee includes a continental breakfast in the morning, and lunch at 1 p.m., which will be immediately followed by an Awards Ceremony. Also at 9 a.m. is the Stars and Stripes Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament at the Biltmore�s William H. Kerdyk Tennis Center, at a cost of $25 per person. Participants change tennis partners each round, so all are ensured of playing with beginners and pros alike. Pre-registration is necessary in order to attend the morning events. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. and lasting through 10:30 p.m., a variety of local restaurants will offer delicacies for purchase. From 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., families can enjoy a variety of carnival activities, such as bounce houses and face painting for children.
At 7:30 p.m. Master of Ceremonies and CBS 4�s TV personality Bob Soper will introduce the spectacular musical sounds of a symphonic performance. Beginning at 9 p.m. it�s time to sit back under the stars and prepare to be dazzled by a spectacular fireworks display Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show. Although there is free parking and shuttle service from the War Memorial Youth Center to the Biltmore Hotel, allow yourselves plenty of time to get to the event. Free parking and shuttle service to and from the Biltmore will be available at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Dr., from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
For those looking to celebrate Independence Day in a grand style, the Biltmore Hotel is also offering its Fourth of July vacation package, Star Spangled Weekend, which will be available July 2nd through July 4th, 2004.
