A Cornish Summer To Remember

The Rosevine

With our pretty fishing villages, child friendly beaches and wonderful coastal scenery there is always a good reason to book a Rosevine holiday, but 2014 is going to be a Cornish summer to remember.

Falmouth has been confirmed as the host port for the Tall Ships Regatta - returning to Cornwall for the first time since 2008. Over 30 magnificent vessels from around the world will arrive for three days of festivities culminating in the parade of sail when hundreds of small vessels join the majestic square-rigged ships as they set sail for London. Tall Ships Race Falmouth 26th-31st August.

And in the week before, we have our own Regatta here in Portscatho - a chance to get even closer to the action! Participants sail across Gerrans bay in a variety of craft including 18ft yachts, working boats, dinghies and even windsurfers - if you are staying here at The Rosevine there will be no need to leave your comfy chair on the lawn! 22nd - 28th August.

We also have news that the Daphne Du Maurier Festival is including a programme of events for children in 2014 - for the first time. Set in the beautiful grounds of Trenython Manor this is now a firm favourite on the literary festival calendar. 10-17th May  And for music lovers Port Issac Mini Fest 2014 is on July 26th & 27th

Stay at:
The Rosevine

Location:
Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall

Why: The Rosevine is a boutique hideaway, near Portscatho, leading the way in a different kind of holiday experience - blurring the boundaries between boutique hotel and self-catering. Its 12 apartment-style rooms and suites come with open plan mini-kitchen and living area and most have a balcony to enjoy sea views, whilst downstairs are comfortable spaces to socialise in; a restaurant, bar, indoor pool, grown-up's drawing room and children's play room. The chef takes inspiration for his modern country cooking from the Rosevine's beachside location and merges this with local ngredients to produce delicious authentic dishes. And it is all part of a thriving local food scene that includes a hip pop up beach joint and a Michelin starred restaurant. A self-catering cottage sits in the Rosevine grounds and the National Trust beach at the end of the lane is a great spot to relax.
