In 2014...

43% intend to spend MORE than in 2013; 42% to spend the same

With the adventure travel sector believed to be growing at 65% per year, it is no surprise it is being increasingly seen as the future of tourism.

The 2014 top 10 dream destinations are:

Antarctica
New Zealand A
ustralia
Japan
Galapagos

South America
Brazil
Bhutan
Canada
Chile

Although they are adventure travellers, for those surveyed adrenalin wasn't as high on their list as you might expect. Short breaks and city breaks proved extremely popular. On their longer trips, Culture and History is the biggest draw, followed by wildlife and nature, and then walking and trekking.

The Adventure Travel Conference polled over 1,000 adventure travellers about their travel plans for 2014. The full results, along with the findings of a survey of tour operators, tourist boards and travel agents, will be revealed at the Adventure Travel Conference on 24 January 2014.

The Adventure Travel Conference is a trade-only business development and networking event for the companies and individuals who operate in the adventure travel sector. Designed for owners, managing directors, management and senior staff, the Adventure Travel Conference will explore the necessary elements for growing market share in the travel industry and debate the impact of various marketing platforms available to reach new clients.
