Adventure Travel Conference survey findings reveal top sought-after destinations and travel trends for 2015

37% intend to take MORE trips than in 2014, 50% to take the same

With the adventure travel sector believed to be growing at 65% per year, it is no surprise it is being increasingly seen as the future of tourism.

Although they are adventure travellers, for those surveyed adrenalin wasn't as high on their list as you might expect. Short breaks and city breaks proved extremely popular. On their longer trips, Culture and History is the biggest draw, followed by wildlife and nature, and then walking and trekking. However, winter activities such as Northern Lights watching and husky sledding is on 2015's travel plans for 20% of this year's respondents – the biggest increase year on year.
The Adventure Travel Conference polled over 1,000 adventure travellers on their travel plans for 2015. The full results, along with the findings of a survey of tour operators, tourist boards and travel agents, will be revealed at the Adventure Travel Conference on 16 January 2015.
