3RD ANNUAL MADISON AVENUE GALLERY WALK KICKS OFF NEW YORK ART WEEK ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27

 50 World Class Madison Avenue Galleries Offer Artist & Curator Talks

Madison Avenue will become an epicenter of art during the 3rd annual Madison Avenue Gallery Walk. On Saturday, April 27, preceding Frieze New York, TEFAF and Art New York, curators from 50 internationally acclaimed participating galleries will open their doors to the public from 10am - 6 pm to offer gallery talks and tours discussing their respective exhibitions by curators and artists. Madison Avenue Gallery Walk gives art collectors and enthusiasts the time and space to visit the participating galleries that span Madison Avenue and its adjacent side streets from East 57th to East 86th Streets.

Highlight of the talks & tours include:

Acquavella Galleries - “Lucian Freud: Monumental” featuring large scale naked portraits by Freud from 1990-2007,

Baahng Gallery - Artist Talk & Opening Reception for Porte Aguas, and a solo exhibition by Pilar Goutas.

Boers-Li Gallery - “Worlds without Borders,” a solo exhibition of Esteban Cabeza de Baca, a walk-through with the artist, followed by a reception

Di Donna, - Exhibition Tour: Surrealism in Mexico led by Jennifer Field, Ph.D., Director of Exhibitions

DAG - Introduction to Indian Modernism

Erik Thomsen Gallery - Modern Japanese Screens

Galerie Gmurzynska - Karl Lagerfeld and his very private passion of photography

Helly Nahmad Gallery - A guided tour of “Works by 20th Century Masters”

Howard Greenberg - James Van Der Zee: Studio

Leila Heller - Jane's World, curated by Jane "Baby Jane" Holzer on the works featured in the space

Levy Gorvy – “Warhol Women”

James Goodman - “Black & White & Red all over.” The talk will focus on works of a monochrome nature.

Mnuchin Gallery - De Kooning: Five Decades

Petzel Gallery - Audio tour of Jorge Pardo exhibition “Reflexivity 1988 - 1994”

Richard Gray Gallery - Introduction to Ewan Gibbs: New York / Chicago

Rosenberg & Co. - Rosenberg Family Legacy and World War II Looted Art

Sundaram Tagore Gallery - A presentation of works by female gallery artists Anila Quayyum Agha, Tayeba Begum Lipi, and Kamolpan Chotvichai.

Van de Weghe Fine Art - Keith Haring Paintings

White Cube - Works by artist Al Held, who created works of great complexity during his 50-year career.

Sarah Douglas, Editor-in-Chief of ARTnews, will lead a gallery tour that will include contemporary and historical works of art, all connected by a consistent thread.
