A total of 22 properties operated by Thailand's leading hotel company Centara Hotels & Resorts have been awarded the 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The newly released certification, which is based on ratings posted by hotel guests, places each property within the top 10 percent of all businesses worldwide on the TripAdvisor website.

Centara properties that have received the accolade are located at Bangkok, Krabi, Samui, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket, Trat, Koh Chang, Chiang Mai, the Maldives, and Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam.

“This is an outstanding recognition of our commitment to our guests and for the quality of our Thai-style hospitality,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“As the certification is based entirely on the consistency of high ratings given by guests to businesses listed on the TripAdvisor website, it reflects the authentic feelings of our guests towards their experience with us.

“The entire Centara team, management and staff alike, are thoroughly delighted by the announcement.”

The figure of 22 compares to eight Centara properties that were awarded a Certificate of Excellence in 2012.

“We are on a path of rapid strategic expansion, and several of the properties gaining the awards are in their first year of operation,” says Mr Thirayuth. “To gain recognition so quickly indicates that our guests appreciate and enjoy the Centara style of service.”

Centara Hotels & Resorts currently has a portfolio of 38 properties in operation in Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, the Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka.

A further 20 are in the construction phase, bringing the overall total to 58.
