At IMM this year, Visit North Carolina is promoting a variety of news items of interest to the UK & Irish market.

2019 has been marked as a celebration of Music in North Carolina by the governor Roy Cooper, who said “The Year of Music is a celebration of our state's arts and culture and the thousands of musicians who call North Carolina home.” There are several major music festivals taking place such as Moogfest, Epicentre festival and Hopscotch Festival. This is in addition to the countless iconic clubs and music venues already running across the state featuring everything from country and blues, to funk and soul.

The Grand Opening of the Mustang Owner's Museum will be on the 55th Anniversary of the Mustang, 17th April 2019. There will of course be an opening night party and celebrations to follow on the 17th through to the 20th April. Ahead of the opening, fans of the original pony car can glimpse the Concord area's newest motorsports attraction during the National Mustang Day celebration. A preview museum will be open 13th-15th April with a program that includes a parade lap around Charlotte Motor Speedway, visits to Carpenter Ford Museum and Petty's Garage, seminars and a banquet.
