Early bird catches the VIP mountain experience

  • Returning for a new ski season, the hotel's popular Skiing & Winter Adventures invites guests to take part in the hotel's complimentary First Tracks on Ajax (Aspen Mountain) an élite tradition where avid skiers can hit the fresh untouched pistes of Aspen Mountain before its open to the public.

Snow Cat Skills 

This year the hotel is offering a “Snowcat Academy” for guests to learn to commandeer a snowcat at nearby Buttermilk Mountain. Designed to provide a unique experience with one-on-one cat instruction. The class will last approximately three hours and will give the guest initial training and then driving time in the snowcat.  Buttermilk's Panda Peak will serve as a giant sand (snow) box and the guest can learn to simply manoeuvre through the snow or groom a trail of one's own.  

Friday Powder Day

  • Aspen Mountain Powder Tours are made all the more special when The Little Nell takes over one of the snowcats. Guests' knee-deep hosts for the day are The Little Nell's Managing Director, Simon Chen and Director of Sales & Marketing, Pete Hayda, as well as the Ski Concierge aces
  • Each tour averages 10-12 untracked runs on blank canvas of intermediate to expert terrain, followed by an intimate late lunch at a wood stove-heated cabin in the heart of the Elk Mountains. Lunch offerings are perfectly paired with cuvee wines, specially bottled for the restaurant, element 47
  • The Little Nell Powder Cat Tours experience is offered on Fridays from 15 December 2015 – 2 April 2016. Cost is £298 (lift ticket included) per person; if a group would like to buy out the cat (10 seats) the pricing is reduced to £257 per person. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
