Cosmos Hotel Management Co., Ltd., operator of the apartment-style accommodation brand MIMARU, has collaborated with Sumitomo Corporation to introduce a clothing-sharing service for inbound family travellers staying at MIMARU properties. Through participation in Any Wear, Anywhere, the new service will launch on January 19, 2026, with reservations opening on January 7, 2026.

Family travel to Japan often involves significant preparation, including selecting clothing suited to local climate conditions, transporting multiple suitcases for all family members, and managing unused clothing or luggage during or after the trip. To help ease these challenges, MIMARU has expanded its range of travel-support services, following initiatives such as Luggage Delivery by MIMARU, by introducing a clothing-sharing option designed specifically for visiting families.

Any Wear, Anywhere is a clothing-sharing service launched by Sumitomo Corporation in July 2023. The service allows travellers to reserve clothing sets online in advance according to season and travel purpose, receive them at their accommodation, and return them within Japan after use. By reducing the need to transport large volumes of clothing from overseas and minimizing disposal at the destination, the service contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and supports the promotion of sustainable tourism.

For its introduction at MIMARU, the service lineup has been expanded to better suit families traveling with children. Sizes and item combinations have been adjusted to accommodate family use, allowing guests to select coordinated sets and receive their clothing directly at their place of stay. The initiative will be operated as a trial through March 2026, with future developments to be considered based on usage data and guest feedback.

The service supports a new style of travel that reduces the burden of pre-trip preparation and post-trip packing. Travelers can select and reserve clothing online before arrival, receive ready-to-wear items at check-in, and return them at the end of their stay, eliminating the need for packing bulky garments or handling laundry after returning home.

Guest experiences highlight the practical benefits of the service.
“I don't usually own winter clothing, and with children growing quickly, bulky winter wear takes up too much suitcase space. Renting felt like better value,” shared a traveller from Singapore.
“The clothing was comfortable and well suited for walking around Tokyo. Having extra suitcase space meant I could enjoy shopping more,” commented a traveller from Australia.
“Arriving to find the clothes prepared and simply returning them at the front desk made everything very easy. The quality and cleanliness were excellent,” noted a guest from the United States.
