PALM COVE, QUEENSLAND (22 OCTOBER, 2025) – Accor Vacation Club has introduced a new level of comfort with a $4.7 million refurbishment of The Sebel Palm Cove and Coral Coast Resort apartments in Palm Cove, a strategic initiative set to invigorate tourism across North Queensland.

The Sebel Palm Cove's 37 apartments have been transformed with an energetic colour palette of white, tan and blue, and inspired by the region's most renowned wonders – the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage-Listed rainforests. Eye-catching artwork, colourful cushions and rugs, and feature walls and wallpaper complete the fresh look, while the apartments have been outfitted with new carpets, dining settings, bedheads, lounge suites, outdoor furniture and kitchen appliances.

Meanwhile, the 20 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments owned by Accor Vacation Club at the nearby Coral Coast Resort Palm Cove feature a softer colour palette of white, tan and olive green. New splashbacks and stone benches now adorn the kitchens, while appliances have been updated in the kitchens, living and dining rooms. All furniture, artwork, window dressings and décor items have been replaced to complete the renovations.

“Accor Vacation Club has a regular refurbishment cycle to ensure our members experience contemporary accommodation with tasteful design in every stay. Members develop a connection with the properties during their time in the club and we often see a spike in member interest when a property has been refurbished,” said Craig Wood, CEO Accor Vacation Club.

“Research indicates vacation owners – like those with Accor Vacation Club – spend more on holidays than regular travellers, making this $4.7 million project not just an investment in property, but in Palm Cove's accommodation stocks and its broader tourism offering,” he added.

The project also had a direct effect on the economy by utilising approximately 20 tradespeople and contractors. In a regular year, Accor Vacation Club's Palm Cove properties are estimated to make a direct and indirect economic contribution of $10 million, including through staff wages and guest spending.

“Travellers prefer fresh, updated accommodation where possible so the refurbishment of two of the Palm Coast's most loved properties by Accor Vacation Club is a welcome investment that both bolsters our offerings to travellers and should help bring more guests to the region,” said Brett Olds, Deputy Mayor and Division Nine Councillor at Cairns Regional Council.

The Sebel Palm Cove offers 37 generous, self-contained apartments, a large lagoon pool and complimentary Wi-Fi. Accor Vacation Club members give it a rating close to nine out of 10 in post-stay surveys, a rating reflected on Tripadvisor, booking.com and with members of ALL, Accor's loyalty program.

A short walk away, close to the beach and Palm Cove Village, Coral Coast Resort Palm Cove boasts an outdoor swimming pool as well as access to Ocean Edge's Health Club, a 25-metre lap pool, gym, and sauna. Accor Vacation Club owns 20 apartments at the resort that are accessible to club members.

Accor Vacation Club is one of the region's leading vacation clubs, with nearly 30,000 members and 24 properties across Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia. Club rooms are principally used by members, but can be accessible to the public when members exchange their points to use elsewhere.
