Jo Somerset-Wood and Mike Harvey, owners of the luxury holiday hamlet Old Lanwarnick, near Fowey, held a special event to celebrate the launch of The Old Farmhouse. This thousand year old property, grade II listed and recorded in the Domesday Book, has been recently renovated to the highest possible catering standard of five star gold and is the latest addition to the couple's multi-award winning, self-catering luxury holiday hamlet.

Guests, including East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray and Head of Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell, were invited to take part in a tour of The Old Farmhouse and a short walk around Old Lanwarnick's ancient woodlands. They were able to take a seat by the river and enjoy pasties and cider in the Old Quarry, the perfect venue for celebratory events, including woodland weddings.  

Malcolm Bell said: "It's a beautiful property, lovingly restored and still maintains features that really put into perspective just how much history this building and its surroundings hold."

Also attending the celebrations were the Yeo family, who owned Old Lanwarnick for nearly 150 years prior to Jo and Mike buying it. Cyril, 92, and his sister, Sylvia, 82, both commented that they were so pleased to see the farmhouse restored to its former glory. Cyril, who lived in the house for 63 years, said: "The house looks lovely now. A bit different from when I left." Sylvia who called The Old Farmhouse home from the age of 14 up until she married, said: "I've always loved this place. It's wonderful to see what's been done here."

All six properties at Old Lanwarnick are graded five star gold awarded by Quality In Tourism - Visit England.
